Homeopathy heals mind and body
A therapy which has been healing pain, serious illness, depression and grief for 200 years
Homeopaths have been practising for 200 years.
The founder Samuel Hahnemann was so shocked
by the bloodletting and dangerous medicines of the
late 18th century that he created a new approach.
He began curing patients with minute doses of
medicine.
"The highest ideal is to restore health
rapidly, gently,permanently"
he wrote. These principles have not changed.
Natural medicines
Homeopathy uses natural substances that humans
have known for hundreds of years: herbs, tissue
salts and minerals. We draw on two centuries of
testing and practical experience for many of our
medicines. They are given pure and highly diluted.
Natural cure
An instinct towards health is universal. It consists
of much more than the body's immune system. It
is the life principle itself. Homoepathic treatment
stimulates this instinct and causes body and mind
to restore themselves to vitality.
Why unique?
Every cold is different; every depression is
individual; every cancer expresses itself uniquely
Homeopathy looks for patterns of suffering in
body and mind that are unique to the patient.
Clinical trials?
Every medicine is tested on healthy humans. We
have been doing this for 200 years.
How does it work?
Homeopathy is a scientific method. It works by
drawing out symptoms with a medicine that
produces the same symptoms. For example, we use
homeopathic doses of coffee to help restlessness
and lack of sleep.
What about my medication?
Homeopaths do prescribe for patients on medication.
Medication can often be lowered or stopped altogether
but only where this is safe.
Do I have to believe?
No. Homeopathy works on non-believers, babies and animals. Also in someone in a coma.
How long is each appointment?
The first appointment takes an hour and a half. Follow-ups
are up to three quarters of an hour.
What happens during the consultation?
I listen carefully to the symptoms of the main problem.
Then I explore the unique pattern of likes and dislikes,
pain, physical illness and emotional hurt.
How often?
Normally I expect to see people once a month.
How much?
First appointment: 50.00
Follow-ups:30.00
Whom can homeopathy help?
Physical problems are rooted in who we are. Each person has
a unique pattern of suffering. This is what the homeopath looks for.
Some people express their stress physically, for example through
digestive complaints, migraines or menstrual pain. Others develop
illnesses typical of the 20th century such as stress, MS and ME.
Or they suffer from deep conditions such as cancer or heart
disease. Whether the trigger for the physical upset is hereditary
or accident, an emotional upheaval or just one illness seeming
to lead on inevitably to the next, homeopathy can often help.
Other people express their vulnerability emotionally.
They find they can't recover from a death or they can't
pick themselves up after redundancy. Homeopathy is a particularly
effective form of therapy to draw a person out of their suffering.
Homeopathy aims to restore mental, emotional and physical balance
